Job Description:

For this role, we are looking for an experienced engineer to help execute the L3Harris engineering excellence plan. This position works closely with engineering leadership as well as leadership from other functional groups such as Engineering Information and Technology (EIT), Operations, Quality and Supply Chain. The Corporate Engineer, Operational Excellence will also have opportunities for frequent communication with the executive committee both written and in person. This position reports to the Senior Director, Engineering, Corporate Headquarters Office of the CTO.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leverage project management methodologies to oversee and drive strategic projects assigned by the CTO
  • Work jointly with IT and data analytics teams to create an automated scorecard for executive leadership
  • Manage Corporate Engineering scorecard
  • Manage Engineering Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Program
  • Engage with e3 Corporate and Segment teams to support L3Harris E3 goals
  • Develop Value Engineering strategy and support segments in increasing the adoption of other processes to drive competitiveness (DFX, additive manufacturing, front loading etc)
  • Lead monthly engineering operations reviews for the CTO
  • Engage with technology office and the core technology centers
  • Develop and deliver executive-facing presentations on project status & objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s with 9 years of prior related experience in Engineering, Math or Science or Graduate Degree with 7 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Communication skills; ability to communicate, present and collaborate across the segments and up to executive level
  • Experience in project engineering leading multi-disciplinary hardware and software development
  • Experience with application of design for manufacturing and assembly
  • Experience with technology strategy generation and implementation
  • Experience with management of design to cost activities.
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process and technique
  • Technical background in mechanical, systems, aerospace, chemical or electrical engineering, software
  • Ability to identify gaps/risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Change agent with analytical skills
  • Ability to implement and adapt project execution plans that will achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements
