Job Description:

The role of Focal Plane Array (FPA) Development Manager will lead a fast paced team of highly skilled engineers responsible for all aspects of our Focal Plane Array life cycle from long-range strategic technology development to support for volume production programs. The person in this role will provide the tools, support, funding, and guidance the team needs to be most effective.

Essential Functions:

• Plans, manages, and directs the overall product development activities of the team
• Communicates directly with the technical customer community to establish requirements and convey project status
• Works with technical leaders across the organization to develop product roadmaps and define strategy
• Management of a team of 15+ specialist engineers
• Functional management of day-to-day direction, guidance, support and mentoring of team members
• Setting priorities based on cross-functional interaction with the broader engineering community and other functional departments
• Leading the preparation and submission of bids & proposals from initial technical analysis of customer requirements through financial estimating and technical proposal writing

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Materials Science and Physics or other related technical degree and 12 years of related experience. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
• 10+ years’ experience managing a team of highly qualified, highly technical development engineers
• Experience working with government customers, labs and technical experts

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience managing a team of highly qualified, highly technical development engineers at the cutting edge of Focal Plane Array technology
• Infrared sensors development experience
• Advanced degree in an of a broad range of STEM subjects including but not limited to electrical engineering, semiconductor engineering, materials science and physics
