About Space & Sensors:

L3Harris Space & Sensors Division, headquartered in Mason, Ohio, designs, develops, and manufactures complex systems (electronic, avionics, transceivers, transmitters, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical) for the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets. L3Harris is a recognized leader in Electro-Optical technologies that enable systems to support surveillance, reconnaissance, threat detection, and self-protection missions. Our world-class Space Avionics systems include equipment for Mars Rover/Landers/Orbiters, Launch Vehicles, and Imaging Satellite Communications.

Job Description:

L3Harris Space & Sensors Division is seeking a Material & Production Planning Specialist to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning material requirements and scheduling materials to support manufacturing and program requirements. Other responsibilities will include analyzing data and supplying material status to the organization and partnering with the supervisor to work cross-functionally. Although there will be no direct supervisory responsibilities, the Production Planning Specialist may still be required to direct workflow through written and verbal communications to other members of the team.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.
  • Distributes production schedules or work orders to departments.
  • Determines personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.
  • Reviews documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables.
  • Maintains requisitions and inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Arranges for delivery, assembly, and distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality and supply chain. Interfaces external customers, engineering and program management with status of work in progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations/Business or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of prior relavant experience; or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience; or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years prior related experience.
  • Must understand material requirements planning and the interrelationships of configuration, manufacturing, quality and procurement, and materials concepts in the electronics industry.
  • Strong excel skills and analytical skills are required
  • Able to handle multiple projects are all a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Able to work under general supervision and provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Supply Chain Management experience.
  • Logistics and packaging experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with the management of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods is preferred.
  • Proven experience with monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
