Job Title: FPGA/ASIC Subject Matter Expert

Job Location: Mason, OH

The Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) FPGA/ASIC SME reports to the IMS Director of Electrical Engineering, in support of Electrical Discipline functional plans, digital roadmaps and provides direct project contributions at the Sector/Division level.

The Senior Member of Engineering Staff will be part of the key ASIC/FPGA design/verification, and flow development/validation team, responsible for the delivery of FPGA/ASICs, EDA tool/flow evaluation/validation, and cutting edge flow development, for deployment across the segment.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Work with sites to establish DevOps pools and pipeline
  • Work program startups to support robust kick-off of FPGA work
  • Act as a resource to programs to consult on complex FPGA issues
  • Develop FPGA processes and checklists
  • Refine and enforce consistent firmware development processes across FPGA designs
  • New tool research and champions new tool selections, including in HLS
  • DevOps process and tool development
  • Digital Engineering with respect to FPGA and ASIC
  • Product Development /Technical Leadership
  • Support FPGA developments working in cross-functional teams to meet technical, schedule, and design-to-cost goals.
  • Support bid and proposal activities to generate technical solutions, cost, and schedule estimation.
  • Technical presentations including internal and external design reviews.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BS or MS in Electrical or other engineering discipline and 10+ years of experience developing, implementing, and verification of high performance communications/network ASIC/FPGA products
  • Architecting, implementing high throughput digital cores / algorithms targeting SOC class FPGAs with interfaces - Ethernet (UDP, TCP/IP), AXI, PCIe/NVMe, USB
  • Experience with Clock Domain Crossing, Reset Domain Crossing, Static Formal flows
  • Experience in Low Power Methodologies, HLS (Vivado/Catapult)
  • Experience in VHDL/Verilog, C++ (OOP), Perl/Tcl
  • Experience with Synthesis/PAR: SDC, Synopsys DC/Synplify, Vivado, Quartus, Libero
  • Verification with UVM, Verification IPs. Mentor EDA preferred.
  • End to End ASIC/FGPA development flow
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to support geographically dispersed teams, including through travel
  • Self-starter with ability to identify gaps and needs within an organization, and work with leadership to close those issues
  • Experience with DevOps for FPGAs and Agile development
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship; existing SECRET or TS preferred
  • Preferred additional skills
    • Proficiency in High level synthesis (Xilinx Vivado HLS / Mentor Calypto) with C++.
    • Proficiency with scripting languges (Python, TCL)
    • Proficiency Embedded Linux, C++/OOP, SDKs, BSPs
    • Experience with FaaS as a infrastructure
    • Thorough understanding of version control best practices and tools
