L3Harris Space & Sensors Division, headquartered in Mason, Ohio, designs, develops, and manufactures complex systems (electronic, avionics, transceivers, transmitters, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical) for the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets. Job Description:
L3Harris Space & Sensors Division is currently seeking an experienced Destructive Physical Analysis/Failure analysis and Vendor Quality Technician to contribute to the success of the Specialty Engineering department. This position will require the employee to work in multiple areas of the facility as needed and directed by management. The primary responsibilities include performing analysis on piece parts or assemblies as well as supporting Vendor Quality Engineering with incoming material review/acceptance.
Essential Functions:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
- Performs destructive physical analysis and failure analysis on electronic piece parts to ensure materials conform to the applicable specifications.
- Creates and maintains detailed reports relating to the quality of the material/assembly.
- Reports analysis data to management team on an as needed basis.
- Processes and transitions incoming material to next stage of process after recording part/assembly data into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system software.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience, or 2 years post-secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related work experience.
- Must be able to read and understand test procedures, operating instructions, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
- Knowledge of and experience with industry/Government Standards (MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-1580, J-STD-001, IPC-7095, etc.).
- Background in Destructive Physical Analysis and Failure Analysis.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience using electronic laboratory equipment including scanning electron microscope, bond pull/die shear tester, optical and digital microscopes, real-time digital x-ray systems, etc.
- Failure Analysis and past experience troubleshooting down to component level.
- Working knowledge of CostPoint ERP system.
- Working knowledge of TIPQA software.
- Able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.
ADA Requirements:
- Able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Able to hear and speak.
- May be required to lift up to 10 pounds, with assistance.
- Able to work in a typical lab environment.
