Job Description:

System Test Engineer for mission critical VIDA Infrastructure Communications and Portable/Mobile Radios used to support first responders and military personnel on evolving LMR/LTE/Satellite and Hybrid Communications Architectures.

Areas of responsibility will include:

Be a key member of an agile scrum and/or system test team with a focus on system test
Integration of L3Harris proprietary application software on both Linux and Windows platforms running in VMWare virtual environments and Cisco networking and firewalls
Perform requirements analysis, test analysis, and system verification with scrum
Execute system feature integration, verification and validation activities Agile projects
Perform manual and automated/scripted feature and regression testing on new software and hardware for infrastructure products.
Troubleshoot and characterize failures via cross-team interaction, especially with development personnel, both within a product and throughout multiple parts of the system
Provide detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for trouble reports and test reports.
Create both manual and automated/scripted tests as required for new features and regression testing
Performing basic system administration of both Linux and Windows platforms and VMWare virtual environments, and Cisco networking equipment on L3Harris Land Mobile Radio (LMR) lab systems
Support lab testers with platform configuration and debug when needed
Contribute to evolution of automation platforms and strategies with an eye towards Harris Business eXcellence (6-Sigma) improvements in accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency
Create and maintain test and engineering related work products for various projects. Such as:

System Test Strategy
Test Plans
Test Instructions
Automation/scripting
Weekly Status and Test Reports
Configure and maintain test beds
Basic system administration of both Linux and Windows platforms
Basic administration of VMWare virtual environments
Basic administration of Cisco networking switches, routers, and firewalls

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
At least 2 years experience in installing and configuring server and client hardware and software on Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems
At least 2 years experience testing platforms and application software on Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems
