Job Description:

The Program Management team is seeking a Principal, Program Excellence Leader. This position will be responsible for overall Program Excellence and Proposals. This person will identify and execute improvements to processes, procedures and templates. This position will generate corrective actions for Red and Yellow programs, as well as define, generate, analyze, and update metrics for measuring success. This position will help to identify training needs for the Program Management Function. In addition, this person will lead proposal activities by organizing the cross-functional team and making sure that we submit compliant and complete bids. This person will be responsible for local Program Management policy, procedure, templates, and communications with other business functions.

This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Program Management.

he primary responsibilities include:

  • Able to lead effectively and interact frequently with internal and/or external management and customers
  • Provide feedback and training to Program Managers on all aspects of Program Management, including best practices, techniques and competencies
  • Leading cross-functional teams to develop and submit proposals
  • High level of business/financial acumen and the ability to instruct others in this area
  • Generate innovative insights from analysis, and work with business partners in developing and implementing new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results.
  • Identify needed Program Management process improvements
  • Work and participate with Segment and Sector Program Management Council to develop ongoing efficiencies to include additional training

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 5 years experience working with executives, senior leadership, and external customers
  • 5 years experience in analyzing, parsing and communicating financial information. Including experience with Earned Value (EV)
  • 8 years or more of working programs in a DoD environment with excellent knowledge of the FAR and US Government procurement processes, procedures, and nuances
  • 5 years DoD Program Manager experience with a superior understanding of DoD program management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and issues proactively and promptly with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong executive presence as well as the ability to effectively influence and make recommendations at all levels of the organization.
