Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description:

The Inventory Management Support role will report into Supply Chain and is responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Daily Cycle counts
  • Data Entry of receipts, stockroom, and shipped items
  • Check Received items against packing list and record discrepancies
  • Assemble material into kits, packages, lots, and units as necessary
  • Prepare reports and note shortages/damages
  • Execute transaction in FactoryLogix and Deltek Cospoint pertaining to material movement
  • Document incoming and outgoing material and supplies to production lines
  • Fill Requisitions from stock
  • May be required to interface with departments throughout the company
  • May be required to use pallet jack or fork lift as needed.
  • May be required to move between buildings.
  • Must follow prescribed procedures for safeguarding, storage, handing and accounting for item and material designated as classified, restricted, special project, or high priority.

Requirements

  • ISO training and knowledge
  • Strong math and analytical skills and the ability to use a calculator and solve problems
  • Electronic Component knowledge and handling experience desired.
  • Experience using counting scales.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds repeatedly
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and drive a standard transmission box truck
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Desired traits:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ERP system based software preferred
  • APICS certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply chain Professional (CSCP) a plus
  • Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus
