Job Description:
Generally responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including all trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

Focused responsibility will be performance of work as a Master Plumber who determines defects in, repairs, and maintains heating, water, and drainage systems in industrial or commercial establishments. Inspects low-pressure, air, steam, water, and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions; repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters and hot water tanks; replaces washers; mends or replaces burst or leaky pipes; tests joints and pipe systems for leaks; opens clogged drains; measures, cuts, threads, bends, reams, and installs pipe and pipe fittings. Test backflow preventers. Uses plumber's tools such as snakes, wrenches, plungers, pipe threaders, etc. Maintains knowledge of local codes. Works to sufficient accuracy to meet insurance underwriters and city standards of safety for plumbing work. Input and retrieve required data into and from computer systems in order to complete their assigned tasks.

Essential Functions:
• Layout, installation, and repair of plant plumbing systems.
• Able to perform all work in keeping with that of a NH licensed Master Plumber, (including weekly testing of fire suppression and all life safety related equipment).
• Reliability, communication skills, workmanship and good judgement are essential traits.

Basic Qualifications:
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• NH issued Master Plumber’s license.
