The Remote Sensing Solution Engineer is the most customer-facing technical role.  It is a dynamic and exciting position that enables the RS Solution Engineer, in conjunction with the Account Manager,  multiple opportunities to interface directly with customers and illustrate how our products and services can be used to solve their problems and thus enabling them to meet their mission objectives.   A strong remote sensing background coupled with experience in software scripting enables the RS Solution Engineer the ability to develop focused software demonstrations, create and deliver custom training materials, and provide direct over-the-shoulder technical support for our software products. 

The RS Solution Engineer is a key member of our larger team and provides content for marketing materials.  In addition, due to direct customer interaction, the RS Solution Engineer is able articulate to Product Management needed capabilities and provides direct feedback and guidance to Engineering as those new capabilities are being implemented. 

Essential Functions:

·         Work with Account Managers to identify customer needs where remote sensing software and analytics are part of the solution 

·         Recommend end-to-end workflows to customers to solve problems unique to their business 

·         Support execution of technical product demonstrations and build prototypes utilizing ENVI, IDL, Python, JavaScript, and/or other related technologies to provide proof-of-concept applications required to win business 

·         Execute technical marketing activities including attending trade shows, creating videos, webinars, and other original content, and occasionally speaking at events 

·         Work with Product Management and Engineering to relay voice-of-customer and market needs to stakeholders within the organization

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree 6+ years of technical product support experience OR Master’s Degree 4+ years of technical product support experience 

·         3+ Years' experience in at least two of the following areas: ENVI/IDL Programming, JavaScript, AWS (or other cloud-based infrastructure), Python, MATLAB, Esri product suite, other geospatial software 

·         25% travel primarily to customer locations in the continental United States

Preferred Additional Skills:

·An active TS/SCI security clearance preferred 

·Knowledge of remote sensing phenomenology with experience working with multispectral and/or hyperspectral image data 

·Experience working with LiDAR, full motion video, SAR, or other remote sensing data 

·Excellent 2-way communication (upward and downward)
