Software Customer Support Engineer

Job Location: Multi-site (Rochester, NY, Herndon, VA, Melbourne, FL, Los Angeles, CA)

Job Description:

The customer support team is responsible for administering production systems and providing support. Support will consist of answering customer questions, troubleshooting configuration, performance or other issues. Support may be conducted via phone, email or on site. Administering the system will include performing installations/upgrades, configuration changes. The team will also be responsible for on-site customizations that are not brought back into the baseline.

Essential Functions:

  • Configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot Redhat/Centos Linux systems
  • Deploying infrastructure through automation
  • Maintain infrastructure virtualization
  • Supporting software deployments at customer sites (10% travel)
  • Customize/optimize/trouble-shoot enterprise level applications
  • Work with product team and customer to diagnose and resolve system issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related disciplinewith 4+ years of work experience; or 2+ years relevant work experience with a Graduate Degree.
  • DOD TS Clearance
  • Experience with Redhat or CentOS Linux system administration
  • Experience deploying infrastructure through automation
  • Experience with detailed understanding of infrastructure virtualization
  • Experience with cloud engineering or administration (C2S/Gov Cloud)
  • Work implementing and maintaining security controls in compliance with DoD security frameworks
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), agile system development, and DevSecOps tools and processes
  • Work independently
  • Strong trouble shooting skills

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 3 certification (Security+)
  • Working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements
  • Working knowledge PKI and/or OAuth authentication models
  • Experience supporting DoD/government customers
  • Experience integrating and administering cross-domain systems
  • Experience with microservices, containers (i.e., docker)
