Electrical Technician

About L3HARRIS WESCAM
As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform outgoing testing on Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), Line Replaceable Unit and various other assemblies
- Perform trouble shooting of CCAs and sub-assemblies.
- Perform software/firmware configuration and verification.
- Troubleshoot electronic assemblies to functional level. Help with route cause analysis.
- Testing of electronic control boxes
- Repair or rework on existing mechanical, optical & electrical assemblies
- Generate quotes and estimates for labour and material
Required Capabilities
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000, AS 9100
- Analytical thinking and self-motivated. Good mechanical & electrical trouble shooting skills with attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of techniques in the use of hand tools, soldering and surface mount soldering,
- Knowledge of various test and measurement instruments. Oscilloscopes, Waveform monitors, DMM.
- Knowledge of LabView testing software.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in technical report writing.
- Computer skills
Desired Education and Experiences
- Community College Diploma relevant to electro-mechanical or mechanical technology
- 5 years relevant experience in the manufacture, repair and test of electronic sub-assemblies
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
