Job Description:

L3 Harris is actively seeking a Specialist, Contracts for a direct hire opportunity for our location in Greenville, TX. We do offer competitive wages with benefits and offer a generous relocation package.

This position in the Aviation Services sector of the (IMS) Integrated Mission Systems segment will join a Contracts team responsible for a diverse business area, with defense customers from various USG Departments and Agencies, various foreign governments, as well as large and small business prime contractors.

Essential Functions:

  • Influences successful business outcomes in order to achieve business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs.
  • Explains and interprets operational processes, practices and procedures of the job area to others within the organization.
  • Utilizes knowledge of regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations.
  • Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
  • Manages intermediate projects or processes with general oversight.
  • Communicates with contacts inside and outside own department and often have responsibility for communicating with external parties. May work to justify and gain cooperation regarding processes, practices and procedures.
  • Works to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. May manage projects at this level with responsibility for the delegation of work and the review of others' work product.
  • Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects or assignments.
  • Work consists of making moderate adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area.
  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives of the project.
  • Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience, with analysis of the issues.

Job Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum (four (4) years of prior relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

  • Position requires an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience working with Defense programs.
  • Professional maturity and confidence in expressing a point of view with senior management.
  • Robust skills in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to constructively challenge others and take a robust stance when required to promote or defend the company’s position.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% required.
  • Proficiency in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses is preferred.

Position requires an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and the ability to maintain the stated clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
