Job Description:

Provides direct support to Hangar, Dock, and Line (HDL) through problem root cause analysis and improvement recommendations/implementation; pre-induction setup; improvement efforts directed toward workflow, work sequencing, work area layout, standardized work, development and training of metrics, and input processes to HDL efforts to ensure the safe and efficient utilization of time, personnel, material, equipment, and capital resources. Will analyze and design sequences of operations and workflows to improve efficiencies in plant/production facilities and equipment layouts and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.  Will conduct studies pertaining to cost/schedule control, cost reduction, inventory control and all phases of production record keeping.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline, with (2) years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
  • Identifies and addresses changes within own job area; some impact on department results.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires US citizenship. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, SAP, Minitab, AutoCad, UG/NX, MS Visio, MS Access, MS SharePoint and MS Project. 
  • Candidate should possess effective analytical skills in problem solving, ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and respectful interpersonal communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines are a must.
  • Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and demonstrate leadership.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Master's degree
  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification or Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Aircraft MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) experience a plus.
