Job Title: Senior Electronic Operations Technician

Job Description: 

The Electronic Operations Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of basic mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic avionics instruments using available documentation; repair manuals, schematic diagrams, technical publications, work instructions, and engineering drawings. In this role individuals may be responsible for conducting test on a variety of digital printed circuit boards, subassemblies or end products.  Must be capable of using a variety of test equipment, logging information in technical databases and have a basic understanding of schematics.  Basic troubleshooting skills are required.  This should include troubleshooting product, subassembly and circuit board failures to component level.  Must be able to work in a fast paces environment with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications:

  • AA-AS Degree in electronics discipline or equivalent electronics training/certification plus related experience
  • 6+ years of technician or troubleshooting experience
  • Previous soldering experience with the ability to be IPC Cerifiited.  
  • Advanced working knowledge of Electrical Engineering theory;
  • Advanced ability to troubleshoot product, subassembly and circuit board failures to component level
  • Advanced experience with test equipment, i.e. Signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers
  • Advanced ability to read and understand schematic diagrams in order to solve complex technical problems, analyze faulty circuits, repair using test equipment
  • MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with environmental testing and monitoring of product.
  • Ability to program integrated circuit devices and troubleshoot software related issues

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Certified with IPC A610, J-Std 001 and ESD
  • Associates degree (technical discipline) is preferred
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing environment
  • Ability to program integrated circuit devices and troubleshoot software related issues
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to work well with others, in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Capable of identifying problems and contributing to process improvements
  • Ability to use software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Willingness to work and learn in fast paced production environment
  • Ability to maintain electronic technician product failure database
  • Demonstrated ability to get to root cause on related multiple products
  • Ability to mentor less experience Technicians
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control as applied to related assembly, inspection and test processes
  • Experience with environmental testing and monitoring of product
