Job Title: Planning Manager

The Planning Manager will lead and planning systems strategy at Aviation Products.  The Planning Manager has direct responsibility for the Production Planning team.  This includes translating the observed demand stream, volume and variation into a variety of strategies that will result in higher OTD and lower inventory levels. Hands on experience of Master scheduling process and developing and executing SIOP is required. Knowledge of planning systems, experience in inventory management, and familiarly with lean tools and techniques are key. Demonstrated Experience in ERP systems (Impresa, SAP or Infor), Power BI and Project Management are a plus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following objectives:

  • Developing Goals/Objectives for the team members, coaching and mentoring to develop high performance work teams and performance management.
  • Balance production and inventory levels with demand to support capacity utilization/staffing requirements.
  • Develops Planning Operating summaries for assigned product families and selected programs including demand, inventory and production data.  Oversee master production schedules for finished goods and component items based on capacity requirements.
  • Calculates resulting requirements for raw materials, purchased parts and packaging supplies based on MRP methodology. 
  • Provides daily-bucketed schedules by product to manufacturing and installs compliance metrics to measure performance. 
  • Developing and deploying inventory strategies
  • Developing and deploying master scheduling process and guidelines
  • Leading the Inventory, Operations planning aspect of SIOP.
  • Development MOS around inventory activities to develop key management level reports and metrics that are actionable
  • Driving and monitoring MPS reconciliation
  • Deliver SIOP performance targets including OTD/Past Due/MPS Compliance/MPS Stability/ ARS(Advanced Replenishment Systems)/Inventory Best Practices.
  • Create Project plans and drive accountability, ownership and change management.
  • Rationalizing the supply-side of the supply and demand alignment equation
  • Drive finished goods inventory strategies that are appropriate for the variety of business segments the site supports
  • Drive accountability for inventory results across through the introduction of Best practice Inventory projects
  • Deployment monitoring of tools and processes in the planning and materials functions.


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical discipline required.  A degree in Supply Chain is preferred.   
  • 9 years directly related experience in progressively responsible positions, Aerospace or Aviation manufacturing is preferred.
  • Hands on experience in Planning and Planning Management 
  • Previous experience in a Management or leadership role required.
  • CIPS, APICS Certification highly desirable.
  • Exceptional planning and organization skills; ability to proactively prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously using Lean basic and program management procedures. 
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience with the Master scheduling process and developing and executing SIOP is required

  • Lean Certification desirable.
