Job Description:

The Configuration Data Management Specialist controls program technical data implementing data management processes incorporating experience utilizing principles and best practices derived from industry standards. The Configuration Data Management Specialist will assist in identifying, documenting, tracking, and submitting data deliverables; structuring and maintaining databases; verifying authorization for and incorporating all changes or additions. Responsible for logging, filing and tracking all drawings, documents, lists and various other items required by engineering and program activity. Generates a variety of standard reports.

You will demonstrate success by:

  • Acting as a primary point of contact for the management of program technical data, ensuring content creators follow data identification, marking, review and release procedures.
  • Implementing data control methodologies preventing process or system issues and ensuring proper standards for quality are maintained.
  • Reviewing and approving/rejecting all formal program documentation, coordinating with contracts organizations and customer regarding new or changing requirements, and integrating with program teams to coordinate deliveries.
  • Ensuring identification, definition, implementation, release and maintenance of data items and Supplier and Contract Data Requirements List (SDRL and CDRL) schedules are in accordance with program requirements.
  • Creating Management Plans to ensure the integrity of customer requirements.
  • Proactively identifying data errors and ensuring accuracy.
  • Enforcing the protection of Intellectual Property by ensuring data management practices adhere to Corporate policy.
  • Supporting audits of the data management function by third parties.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Configuration Management, Data Management, or professional administrative office experience.
  • Familiarity with data marking, formatting, and handling of documentation.
  • Proficient with MS Office products, including SharePoint
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Teamcenter or other Product Lifecycle Management systems.
  • Basic understanding of technical data packages.
  • Good interpersonal and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate orally and in written form.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Detail oriented self-starter.
  • Prior experience with managing data associated with the avionics industry.
  • Experience with utilizing SharePoint websites for data management.
  • Experience with SBM
