Job Description:
This position will be a technical lead within the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment of L3Harris. This team is located in the Ft. Wayne, IN facility, that designs, builds, integrates, and tests, electro-optical and spectral imaging payloads. These instruments contain complex analog, power, digital, and FPGA electronics. Responsibilities will include electrical system architecture, system requirement definition, technical documentation development, requirement verification, and participating on/leading electrical technical teams. Products include electronics, cables, & test equipment in the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment of L3Harris.
Essential Functions:
- Accountable for performance of the technical requirements of assigned program deliverables while supporting scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Implement root cause corrective action for design escapes and technical issues
- Develop collaborative relationships with other technical leads, IPT Leads/Project Managers, Engineering Managers, and Program Leadership to support business demands
- Perform technical risk assessments on proposals and programs
- Support pursuits and technical proposals, including Basis of Estimates as needed
- Lead technical issue resolution teams when required
- Lead and participate on Technical Independent Review Teams (IRT)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and 9 years of relevant professional engineering experience, OR, Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and 7 years of relevant professional engineering experience
- Capable of obtaining a TS/SCI Security Clearance
- 6+ years engineering & leadership work experience in aerospace, military, or space applications
- Electrical System Design Experience
- Experience allocating system level requirements to applicable sub-systems and components
- Circuit design experience
- Hands-on Root-Cause Troubleshooting Experience
- Technical Specification and Interface Control Document Generation Experience
- Experience leading technical teams
- Ability to travel occasionally, <10%, to customer and vendor sites
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Experience working with Space-borne, Aerospace, or Military Electronic Systems
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
- Develop and review electrical engineering documentation to ensure compliance to higher level specifications
- Experience performing risk analysis and developing risk mitigation plans
- Mentoring of other electrical system engineers
- Supplier management and procurement experience
- Analog & digital design experience
- FPGA design experience
- Space electronics design experience
- Cost & Schedule Management Experience
- Experience in designing complex electrical systems, circuits, and sub-system components that include nuclear hardening and survivability techniques and implementation.

- Ability to articulate key message summaries to program management and functional leadership
