Job Description:
The Lead Program Manager, is responsible for all phases of their assigned programs from inception through completion. Drives program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. The responsibility will include managing programs which are part of exciting growth strategy within Communication System domain.
Key Accountabilities:
Overall responsibility for completing the project within time and budget, and meeting all customer requirements.Managing any bid or proposal activity, and production of the business case as necessaryDeveloping a project plan, schedule and project deliverables/scope of supply for the assigned program/sManaging the project budgets and monitoring/controlling all costs to stay within the assigned Project Baseline Budget.Agreeing project completion/acceptance criteria with the customer as they ariseManaging update and completion of all project documentation, both customer-deliverables and internal plans, reports and risk register.Managing resources allocated to the project.Identifying and managing dependencies, assumptions and exclusions on the project.Effective management of stakeholders (Internal / Extrenal) to ensure successful delivery of program Critical Success Factors.Managing any third parties associated with the project, including sub-contractors, suppliers and contract staff.Managing risks and opportunities to ensure the project’s successful outcome is maintained.Undertaking business development activity to generate follow-on work from existing customers.Qualifications and Experience: Essential Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experienceUniversity degree (or equivalent) in either Engineering, Defence related subject or other equivalent degree.Formal qualifications in Project management (Prince 2, APM, PMI).Ability to work within a flexible team environment.Must be stakeholder focused.Ability to effectively manage time and prioritise activities to ensure efficient and effective support.Ability to assess immediate issues and provided direction for resolution.Pro-actively takes ownership of situation within skill set and lead through to satisfactory resolution.SC ClearedDesirable MBA or Masters Degree in Defence related subject or Management/Business.Formal qualification in negotiation, risk management and control, financials or accounting.About L3Harris Technologies: L3Harris Technologies is an agile global aerospace and defense technology innovator, delivering end-to[1]end solutions that meet customers’ mission-critical needs.
