TITLE: Business Development, Air Force

LOCATION: Dayton, OH or Hampton Roads, VA or Salt Lake City, UT

Must live within a 60 minute commute to Wright-Patterson AFB. Relocation will be considered on a case by case basis


The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of the global defense communications market and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement an effective and sustainable competitive research and strategy development process. 

This individual will oversee all phases of the business capture process including early opportunity identification, requirements shaping, qualification, competitive assessments, development of win strategies, proposal preparation, and lead the overall pursuit activity for domestic markets.

Qualified candidates will have a thorough understanding of Air Force, Naval and/or Army customers and associated business development process, including prior experience in business capture and proposal development, and/or a leadership position in a military or Department of Defense environment.

This position will execute business development activities (campaign, individual pursuits, and the associated strategy) in the following areas:

Strategic development of Remotely Piloted Aircraft/Unmanned Aircraft Systems (RPA/UAS) advanced tactical communications and position, navigation and timing solutions that support evolving RPA/UAS concepts of employment for the USAF and other DoD components

Air Domain awareness to include combat air forces, battle management and command and control, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission sets

Customer engagement with prime platform contractors and Government agencies

Partner engagement with industry peers and small business

Experience with the government requirement development and acquisition process is essential

Good oral and written communication skills are required

Ability to work independently 

General computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and/or similar tools

Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships in our industry

Bachelor’s degree, STEM preferred OR equivalent Military training

8 years experience in Business Development, or related skills. OS5/OS6 experience will be considered

5 years experience working at Wright-Patterson AFB

Active Secret US Security clearance, or higher

Able to travel up to 50% of the time

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with RPA/UAS operations/employment as well as Major Command, Air Staff and PEO/acquisition elements

Strong knowledge of defense communications industry, technology, and key players

Experience in the creation of business capture/strategy development, prioritized investment plans, and corporate teaming/proposal development

Current TS/SCI security clearance
