About the role: As a Software Build Engineer, you will be joining the Simulation Technologies & Infrastructure Chapter. You will be responsible for undertaking tasks as directed supporting the construction, integration & testing of simulators & development rigs. You will be working as part of a multi-skilled team and allocated specific tasks in line with programme schedules.

Day to day responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Set-up and configuration of computers for simulators & development rigs
  • Maintenance & management of development rigs
  • Equipment audit and metrics capture
  • Support of Integration activities on simulators
  • Support of Software Baseline management activities

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware & software installation and set-up
  • Experience/knowledge of relevant Computer architectures & configuration
  • An aptitude for problem solving
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to read & write technical English
  • Self-motivated and able to work with a minimal level of supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors at all times
  • Ability to work under the supervision of another engineer
  • Team player, open minded, proactive in moving the company forward
  • Displays energy, drive, agility and resilience in achieving work-related goals
  • Able to undertake periods of shift work
  • Able to work on customer sites, typically overseas, for periods ranging from 1 week up to 4 weeks
  • Flexibility in working hours as required to meet programme needs
  • Able to work effectively when under pressure
  • An HNC (Level 4), HND (Level 5) or suitable degree (with mathematics, science or engineering content) or a minimum 2 years appropriate experience in industry.
