Job Description:

Supporting the facility management needs of the Regional Satellite Support Center–West (RSSC-W) located on Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will be responsible for space utilization and building modification and maintenance. Serves as facilities and equipment coordinator.  Provides facility support for all infrastructure including: buildings, security systems (alarms, cameras, etc.); UPS (facility and user devices); HVAC systems; generator maintenance; server room.  Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing facility modifications.  Must have a hands-on perspective because operational requirements may dictate immediate activities such as relocating network equipment, moving furniture, repairing raised floor, etc. Ensures support services are provided to meet the mission requirements of RSSC-West.  Also performs the duties of RSSC-West building fire marshal and alternate webmaster. 

Essential Functions:

  • Submitting facility work orders
  • Address safety and/or environmental concerns
  • Coordinate with support organizations and/or contractors
  • Provide and/or develop documentation to support budget requests and forecasting of resources
  • Design office layouts; and coordinate moves/actions as needed
  • Review work requests, floor plans and determine whether work requested can be accomplished taking into consideration construction, fire and safety code requirements
  • Prepare, submit, and track work statement and justifications
  • Receive and take action on reports of building deficiencies and recommend/implement appropriate corrective measures in the areas of maintenance/repair equipment and determine on findings to assure deficiencies are corrected to ensure facility safety
  • Maintain all records, plans and drawings of building alterations, additional space requirements, etc. relative to office moves or reconfiguration requirements to include preparation and submission of Requests for Work Authorization (RWA)
  • Recommends alternatives for accomplishing work requested
  • Maintains a log of building maintenance expenses and reconciles as needed


  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior facilities experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior facilities experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of facilities experience
  • 2+ Years of Specialized experience.
    • Specialized experience is defined as experience planning and coordinating construction (construction management), operation, maintenance and repairs to data centers and their support systems (such as raised floor management, building automation systems, and critical power systems (Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), batteries, architectural, heating, ventilation))

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of facility and infrastructure construction, maintenance, and repair programs
  • Experience in project management of facilities related projects
  • Knowledge in facilities management policies and procedures
  • Ability to operate facilities infrastructure
