Job Description:

This position is a leadership role within the SAS Supply Chain Center-of-Excellence (COE). You will be engaging with business stakeholders to understand supply chain problems where data products, systems or tools can have the biggest impact then developing and executing identified solutions through cross-functional teams. This will require exploring complex supply chain data sources, demonstrating curiosity about the business, developing subject matter expertise, while creating analytical tools and systems to solve problems with data-driven approaches.

Manages experienced individual contributors as well as lower level managers. Often leads one or more development teams as well as a COE department. Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Develops or champions new concepts or technologies. Manages the implementation of functional strategies and recommends operational plans that directly impact the short- to mid-term function or business area results. Requires broad management, program management and cross-functional leadership knowledge. Should possess mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or broad expertise across multiple related job areas.

Recommends operational plans and tactics that will directly impact the achievement of overall Supply Chain results. Directs the execution of tactics established by functional leadership. Establishes operational plans with short- to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1-3 years). Work requires a high degree of responsibility for resources. Will recommend and implement new tools, systems, products, processes, policies, standards or operating plans in support of Supply Chain strategies. Will have budget accountability at both the project and department levels.

This is a highly visible position with significant interaction with senior leadership and cross-functional management teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for developing new or improving upon Supply Chain processes, systems or tools using significant conceptualization, reasoning and interpretation. Solutions are innovative, unique and draw upon best practices as well as subject matter expertice.
  • Develops or champions new concepts or technologies. Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are often complex, requiring broad-based consideration of variables that impact multiple functions and/or businesses.
  • Able to learn and adapt to understanding a variety of systems and applications and in doing so, develop cross-domain competency
  • Support supply chain system and analytical tool integration
  • Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the root cause of the problem.
  • Strong experience in excel (macros, pivots, VLOOKUP’s, formulas, and charts)
  • Advanced SQL experience query writing
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate project status, risks and help needed. Be able to elicit requirements, discuss solution options and drive adoption with customers
  • Self-starter, responsible, dependable, and inquisitive


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Data Analytics or other related field and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Data Analytics or other related field and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Innovation development, deployment and team leadership.
  • Power BI, VBA coding, and business intelligence product experience
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain principles and concepts in arospace & defense contracting.
  • Polished management-level communication skills (including verbal, written, and presentation)
