Job Description:

• Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of job area. Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area. Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures Identifies and addresses changes within own job area. Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
• Senior Associate, Quality Engineer will review, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished hardware on highly complex electronic & mechanical spaceflight assemblies. Works under moderate supervision. May provide guidance, coaching and training to entry level prefessionals. Expected to provide detailed activity reports to management.
• Communicates within and outside of Quality function which may include customers and vendors when necessary. Makes recommendations for processes, systems, or products improvements.
• Collaborates with operations and engineering to resolve general manufacturing and design problems. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with GPSIIIF program. Ability to generate relevant metrics and present them to internal and external customers. Advanced skills withy MS Office desired.
• Ability to influence complex decisions based on analysis of available data and downselection of optimal solutions. Highly motivated to drive rigorous Quality processes that produce customer satisfaction. Partners with other functions to achieve efficient resolution of issues without compromise to quality.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or
• 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis tools
• Familiarity with AS9100D and related specifications such as J-STD-001 and J-STD-620
• Lean/Green belt Certification preferred
• Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure to support aggressive project schedules
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Microsoft Office experience
