Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Director of Program Management. In this leadership role the individual will be responsible for overall program management and is accountable for program execution, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This position will have a direct interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholder leadership. The role includes responsibility for guiding L3Harris’ employees in their work and influencing them to deliver their best and to act within the L3Harris corporate values. The position can be located in Clifton, NJ OR Van Nuys, CA.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Managing a portfolio of complex programs, managing several direct reports and the various programs they are managing, succession planning, performance management, and coaching and mentoring
• High-level relationship management
• Ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining customer communication, and providing overall management of the customer relationship
• Managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of multiple programs through all phases from inception to completion
• Directing the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contracts
• Ensuring that all resources such as engineering, manpower, production, and facilities are available to support the program
• Participating in defining program parameters or guiding internal research and development efforts
• Working with customers to determine needs, requirements, and new business opportunities
• Directing the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.
• Solving highly complex problems with significant business impact
• Interacting internally with management and customers on significant business matters
• Developing, managing, tracking, and reporting financial forecasts
• Participating in the overall marketing strategies and business planning in support of L3Harris initiatives and strategic corporate business pursuits
• As required, the candidate will lead and support planning for and involvement in applicable trade shows
• Providing/reinforcing the credibility and commitment of L3Harris at appropriate executive levels within the customer community
• Organizing and coordinating customer visits and participating in appropriate symposiums and trade shows
• Understanding customer procurement processes and government funding approval
• Making effective decisions regarding the profitability and achievability of pursuits
• Occasional travel required

Qualifications:

Active Secret Clearance, with eligibility for higher level accesses
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or technical field with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
• Experience managing programs within a DOD or Aerospace environment
• Solid technical background and strong financial skills
• Previous Earned Value Management System experience
• Experience leading teams and working with other teams, business units, and customers
• Experience with customer and stakeholder communication
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral, written, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Previous experience managing government contracts

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Previous Electronic Warfare experience highly desired
• PMP or equivalent highly desired
