Description:

We are currently seeking a versatile Principal Software Engineer with experience writing a variety of software. This individual will have the opportunity to work on Infrared and/or Space product test applications and be responsible for a variety of software tasks including GUI Application programming, framework level programming, and possibly embedded systems programming. Responsibilities include designing, coding, documenting, and testing C++ and C# applications.

Essential Functions:

Lead software team(s) on management and development of engineering software tools
Create documentation related to the tools
Work with internal customers to identify value stream and tool needs to create a portfolio of software solutions that improve overall engineering productivity
Manage the lifecycle of the software tools and industry best practices
Drive project execution. Provide direction and oversight throughout the project lifecycle to project team to meet commitments
Communicate with leadership overall strategy, roadmap, and status.

Qualifications:

Experience developing software applications using multiple programming languages and frameworks.
Experience with Software Product Management
Experience with Application Lifecycle Managemnt
Experience applying and configuring off the shelf solutions
Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining custom software solutions
Experience defining user stories and getting voice of the customer
Experience with DevOps
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
10+ years of experience in software development
Minimum of BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experienced with and process improvement
Experience with UI/UX design
Experience with back end design and data processing
Experience with cloud development and software services
Familiar with stream processing techniques and tools
Experience with Windows and Linux Development Environments
Experience using configuration management tools such as JIRA, SVN, Git
Experience providing oversight to a small team and assigning work packages
Experience in the Defense, Space, Aerospace, or similar industries
