About L3Harris Aeromet

L3Harris -Aeromet is a Division of Integrated Mission Systems Segment and main office is located in Tulsa, OK.  L3Harris-Aeromet is established within the DoD Community as the developer and operator of special mission ISR systems. We provide special mission system design, modification, and operations with emphasis on the development and integration of state-of-the-art EO/IR sensor systems.

Job Description:

L3Harris Aeromet has an opportunity for an FPGA Engineer working to enhance and develop signal processing techniques for an advanced EO/IR system.  We are seeking a skilled engineer with a capability to work with full motion, multi-spectral video to produce new capabilities into our mission systems.  The successful candidate will join an engineering team developing best-in-class image processing, for real-time active, passive, and multi-spectral systems in support of the national defense.

  • Be responsible for FPGA development. Applications are primarily military avionics and mission systems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizen
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance and obtain additional clearances as required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred), with 4 years of experience or a master’s degree and 2 years of experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  Minimum of 2 years of the experience of successful FPGA code development
  • Applicant must have a willingness to relocate to the Tulsa, OK or Mason, OH area. 
  • Applicant must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Able to travel up to 10%

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Verilog and/or VHDL
  • Familiarity with FPGA architecture development.
  • Intel (Altera), Actel (Microsemi), Lattice or Xilinx, (preferably Altera or Xilinx)
  • Development using Xilinx Vivado and/or Altera Quartus Prime
  • Third party IP integration.
  • Familiarity with FPGA project lifecycle.
  • Ability to take the lead role in FPGA system development.
  • Third party synthesis tools.
  • Translation of graphical FPGA interface and higher level language to VHDL/Verilog
  • Optimization/Refinement of existing FPGA code
  • Algorithm development
  • Familiarity with OpenCL.
  • Experience with testbench development
