Technical Capture Lead, Software Engineering

L3 Harris is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team supporting various capture efforts and new program stand up in support to Government customers. The L3Harris team is building large-scale enterprise applications for space domain purposes using latest web technologies, distributed computation and storage frameworks, DevOps and sophisticated, cutting-edge domain analytics, with the system hosted on virtualized and cloud-computing platforms. The successful candidate will understand software engineering principles and processes in order to lead and support the technical portion of our various capture efforts and help stand-up software capabilities at new programs when awarded.
Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of software development and DevOps as well as in-depth knowledge of capture management. Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Suggests significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Writes technical proposals and perform engineering estimates. Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Interfaces with the business leadership capture team and customers. Provides leadership and technical guidance to the capture team throughout the pursuit process and beyond.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline and minimum of 12 years relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Active TS or TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience in software development life cycle
- Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps practices
- Experience with project/program management and technical team leadership
- Experience supporting pursuits and proposal efforts
- Experience leading and executing Agile software development program(s)
Preferred Additional Skills:
- TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph
- In depth understanding of spacecraft operations and ground systems
- Experience with C# and Java software development
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with microservice architecture
- Experience integrating, testing, and deploying software applications to operations
- Experience with earned value program management and risk management
- Knowledge / experience with cloud technologies
- Experience leading in a Government Program(s) of Record
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $129K - $240K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount my vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits including: health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
