Job Description:

L3Harris Corporation is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. This individual will provide technical guidance and oversite to the Systems Engineering team on a space battle management-C3 project and collaborate with others. The position is responsible for Flight Safety on a national security program.

Essential Functions:

• Provides assessments of spacecraft vulnerability to collision hazards, such as space debris.
• Provides assessments of spacecraft vulnerability to adversary counter-space capabilities, including electro-magnetic interference and directed energy.
• Operational analysis for proactive operational decision making.
• Interaction with customers and provides input to project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables under guidance of senior technical personnel
• Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts to enhance mission operations
• Support the development of technological concepts which improve system performance and mission capabilities
• May act as a technical lead for limited duration

Qualifications:

• 6+ years with STEM Bachelors degree, or 4+ years with a graduate degree.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI is required.
• Experience supporting DoD/government customers a plus.
• Experience performing physics based system modeling, analysis, and algorithm development.
• Communication and excellent presentation skills is a must.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Familiarity with space mission operations, including orbital mechanics.
• Familiarity with orbital mechanics tools, such as STK and ODTK.
• Flexibility to travel for customer purposes.
• Strong coordination and organization skills with a focus on details.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $87,000 - $162,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
