Job Title: Operations Management
Job Location: Camden, NJ
The Mgr, Operations will oversee the manufacturing of custom electronics and/or electronic systems from engineering requirements to production and delivery of end item to customer.
The Candidate will work closely with manufacturing management, program management office, engineering and procurement to ensure that milestones are achieved within existing financial constraints while adhering to master plans and schedules to maximize customer satisfaction. The candidate will build relationships with manufacturing leadership, PMO and Engineering through initial build and product delivery. This role will work closely with functional organizations to resolve production issues and coordinate daily with the production organization to assure/facilitate on-time and within budget product shipments. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to PMO interface, purchase order / material management coordination, resource planning SDRL/CDRL coordination, proposal support, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
This role will be managing a production team comprised of represented technicians. The candidate will utilize production planning processes, provide supervision and managerial support, and utlize the following to complete all assignments:
- Earn Value Management
- Technical / Electronic Manufacturing Project Management
- Material / Production Planning and Scheduling
This role leads and directs experienced professionals, lower level supervisors, or associate managers including communication within and outside of organization to explain and influence changes to policies, practices, or approaches. The ideal candidate will make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products, establish short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results.
Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area. May develop new concepts or standards. A portion of the work is problem solving and innovation and may conduct extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems. Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the function and/or business area
This role communicates with parties within and outside of the organization which includes customers or vendors. Requires ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the function or business area. May conduct briefings with senior leaders
Establishes operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function. Provides measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results.
Day-to-Day activities include supporting manufacturing issues, communication of status with internal and external customers, supporting manufacturing product flow, working on continuous improvement (e3) initiatives, and developing new process standards.
- BS in Engineering / Computer Science or BA/BS in Business Administration with electronic manufacturing experience or AS in relevent field with 10 years experience in manufacturing
- Minimum six (6) years relevant work experience managing projects.
- Two years working experience with earned value management (EVM) system.
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Proven leadership and management capability
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in project management within a production environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer-based project management tools associated with scheduling and cost monitoring
- Working experience using 3D models in a production environment
- Understanding of the manufacturing practices of electronic components
- Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to attain and maintain a security clearance.
