Job Description:

Commercial Training Solutions (CTS), a division of L3Harris, provides an unrivalled portfolio of truly integrated pilot training, resourcing and systems solutions for our customers in the global commercial aviation arena. From software only mobile applications to hardware-based simulators, CTS delivers training for commercial pilots and maintenance personnel.

The Sr. Associate, Software Engineer modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications related to avionics and aircraft systems, and maintenance. They will participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Essential Functions:

Works independently under regular direction and guidance on non-routine tasks requiring judgement and initiative.
Designs, develops, codes and documents applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
Work consists of less-routine tasks in contribution to changes in systems and processes to solve problems
Responsible for making minor changes in processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of approaches and routines being utilized.
Expected to propose solutions to problems for others review.
Communicates with contacts typically within own team on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring some explanation or interpretation in order to understand and reach agreement.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area with minimum 2 years related Software Engineering experience.
C++ experience.
Development knowledge in Windows. Experience with UNIX environment a plus
Experience with system testing concepts, performance issues, and testing optimization.
Able to meet schedules and tight deadlines and work under pressure.
Able to work well with teams and individuals at all levels.
Motivated and desire to build on technical skills and knowledge.
Strong desire to deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive customer relationships.
Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience in aviation industry.
Experience in real-time simulation development.
