Job Decsription:

Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped. Assesses most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, to transport shipments. Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments. Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates

Core responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:

Receiving

Receive parts into facility

Complete inspection process

Verify received parts match PO

Receive parts into electronic inventory management system (SAP) by close of business on day of receipt.

Relocate parts from Receiving Area to Inventory.

Create new inventory storage area if required.

Inventory

Update SAP for required parts motion (including parts finishing, rework, RMA’s, internal test, etc.) (Create warehouse bins for secondary operations).

Prepare and Release parts/kits from Inventory using BOM to WIP

Issue parts to WIP in SAP and relocate those parts to the WIP area for device production.

Monitor non-stock fastener inventory to ensure availability.

Inventory Standards/Operations

Prepare and update inventory procedures during continued growth of department.

Set assembly hierarchy and work with design team to ensure conformity.

Shipping and Logistics

Coordinate shipping and receiving parts during various phases of development using standard shipping or courier services.

Pack products to avoid damage in transit

Ensure packing materials meet required regulations of destination.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification
  • Computer background in Microsoft products (Word, Excel).
  • Experience with inventory software (SAP)
  • Requires a well-organized person
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Requires good communication skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of people
