The Systems Engineer provides support to New Zealand and Australian based Systems Engineering activities .This position exists to ensure that the contracted systems engineering activities meet their requirements and are carried out on time and to budget. Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to, those detailed below:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working within a Systems Engineering framework and V-lifecycle.
  • Responsible for defining and developing the artefacts in support of customers systems engineering activities.
  • Responsible for support to engineering milestone events i.e. PDR, DDR, TRR and formal test events.
  • Responsible for supporting the identification, disposition, and resolution of NZ trouble reports.
  • Responsible for support to the applicable Manager in development and execution of Project plans.
  • Responsible for delivering engineering outcomes in accordance with delivery schedule.
  • Responsible for supporting and reporting upon test events.

Qualifications:

  • Current Australian Security Clearance, transferable equivalent, or ability to obtain.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Systems Engineer with 2+ years’ experience.
  • Familiar with all aspects of the V-lifecycle, as well as familiarity with agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering – Electrical/Electronic, Systems Engineering or related field.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Good written and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and possesses excellent analytical skills.
  • Active clearance.
  • Familiarity with ADF/NZDF introduction into service and through-life management processes.
  • Familiarity with Safety (e.g. MIL-STD-882) Engineering principles.
  • Familiarity working with Security Engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with IBM Rationale DOORS.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA.
