Job Description:

The Associate Manager, Systems Administration will be responsible for leading a small team of IT professionals tasked with maintaining, developing and implementing new capabilities and efficiencies in support of classified IT environments. This is a fast-paced environment with rapid capabilities development and deployment expectations to achieve strategic business goals. This position will apply strong business acumen, communication skills and relationship building combined with strong analytical and planning skills to work with a wide range of groups and functions across the company.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage Information Technology staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, planning and training employees. Coach, counseling, monitor, and appraise staff performance.
  • Manage network administration, help desk, and break-fix support services.
  • Evaluate data and network technologies and products required to provide tools and services required by employees and programs. Interface with vendor application engineers.
  • Set standards and configuration of computers, software, servers and infrastructure hardware required for employee productivity and for programs to meet customer commitments.
  • Manage licensing for all software packages required to create or deliver products to customers.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery processes. Create and maintain records of technology configurations, resources, and processes to support disaster recovery activities.
  • Purchase hardware and software required for employee productivity or program operational needs. Maintain records to track and evaluate the status of hardware and software.
  • Manage extended warranties on computers, servers, and infrastructure hardware.
  • Manage Information Technology upgrade projects with internal resources or vendor turn-key labor.
  • Perform as program interface with Security Information Assurance Professionals.
  • Create and maintain administrative systems and documents required by government agencies responsible for Information Assurance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in implementing Microsoft software, Microsoft servers, VMware software, Network Administration, Network Security, Advanced Troubleshooting and Project Management.
  • 5 years involvement with implementation of requirements on classified systems and networks.
  • Supervisory experience
  • CompTIA Security +
  • BS or BA – Business or Computer Science

  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Self-motivating and able to manage multiple technologies with little to no assistance.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
  • Microsoft Certifications, CISSP Certification
  • Experience with Cisco product devices.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewall devices.

Special Requirements

  • An active DoD security clearance required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet and maintain eligibility requirements for access to DoD classified information. Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required. US Citizenship required.
