Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer Advance Programs

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an experienced systems engineer to lead and support advanced development in the areas of virtual aircrew and maintenance training and other customer-directed training and simulation capabilities.  Successful candidates will perform the functions described below by employing listed skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and direct systems engineering activities on complex system design and integration programs
  • Develop systems requirements and systems architectures
  • Coordinate with all engineering functions to ensure common understanding of system design
  • Coordinate with external partners and subcontractors / vendors to develop mutually beneficial technical capabilities
  • Plan and direct software & system integration activities
  • Plan and direct system verification & validation activities
  • Applicants must possess an active secret clearance or be able to obtain one within 1 year of hiring


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Math, Science, Engineering or other STEM-related field and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree in a Math, Science, Engineering or other STEM-related field and a minimum of 7 years of prior Defense contractor related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Two plus years of experience developing complex, modular open-systems architectures(MOSA) using a mixture of re-use, COTS, and newly-developed technologies
  • Create effective systems architecture, interface, and other design documentation
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with co-workers, company management & leadership, and customer representatives
  • Develop effective presentation materials and documentation for internal and customer-directed presentations
  • Rapidly develop conceptual systems designs for marketing and proposal support
  • Experience four plus years with US Department of Defense training and simulation systems
  • Experience two plus years with AR and VR technologies
  • Experience four plus years directing software development efforts and defining software requirements
  • Experience four plus years working in MBSE development environment
