Job Description:
The primary role of this position is to provide optical engineering supporton various aerospace programs. These programs utilize imaging systems ranging from UV to LWIR regions of the EM radiation spectrum. Engineering support is in the form of design/analysis and alignment/test of optical systems.
Essential Functions:
- Testing of optical systems
- Optical component receiving cleaning and inspection
- Working with cross-discipline teams
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills
- Performing troubleshooting and requirements verification
- Systems trade studies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Optical Engineering.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in optical design/modeling, systems trade studies, and analysis of remote sensing infrared and visible space qualified systems.
- Experience with Zemax and/or Code V optical software.
- Experience with programming software; MATLAB
- Experience with FRED stray light analysis software.
