Job Description:

L3Harris is searching for a talented individual with Project Management experience and Aviation/Aerospace industry experience to join the L3Harris Mission Networks, FAA-centric Data Comm team to help implement FAA Next Generation automation and communications systems. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of critical projects within the Mission Networks team. Your leadership will ensure that L3Harris continues to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the aviation and aerospace sectors. Essential Functions:

• Lead the Data Comm program Route Automation team to achieve NAS-wide Data Comm FMS compliant aircraft routes
• Ensure timely delivery of team reporting deliverables
• Monitor trends in flight plan filing and route automation, providing proactive guidance to mitigate operational issues
• Liaison with airlines and industry partners to coordinate to support the FAA Next Gen initiatives
• Team with multiple engineering functions to define requirements that increase efficiency of data analysis and metric reporting
• Perform operational analyses that support Next Gen initiatives
• Develop/deliver customer presentations
• Identify trends, conclusions, and hypotheses as an independent and proactive researcher

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
• Demonstrated leadership in managing a focused team of 2-5 professionals, guiding project execution and fostering a collaborative work environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, able to write software macros

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in related discipline (Management, Air Traffic Management, etc.)
• Background in coordinating with federal agencies such as the FAA or experience in regulated industries
• Experience working with flight management systems and avionics systems/equipment
• Knowledge of Air Traffic Control Operations/Systems and/or flight experience
• Knowledge of NAS operations and familiarity with Data Comm systems is highly desirable
• Demonstrated success in managing complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with experience in airline or operator outreach programs
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Candidates are preferred to be in the Northern Virginia area

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $84,500 - $157,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
