Job Description:

As a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer, you will contribute to a Systems Engineering team in design, development, implementation, testing and training of/for command and control systems for our warfighters.  This position supports the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) division, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together.  We have a long history of innovative and exceptional performance; we have earned our place as a trusted provider to our customers.

In this position, you will bring your systems engineering background to a system engineering role where you can make a broad impact to programs and projects that are critical to our customers!

Essential Functions:

  • Performs Systems Engineering activities related to IT & Engineering including: Requirements definition, Analysis & engineering, System analysis & design, Interface & data architectures, Systems integration, System operational performance analysis
  • Ensures the logical & systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, & cost constraints
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation & interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into HW & SW or engineering specifications
  • Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, & tools for the most efficient solution, including present & future capacity requirements
  • Managing large-scale Agile or SecDevOps teams/projects, to include support to cost estimating, baseline & risk management, schedule development, performance monitoring & reporting
  • Experience leading waterfall-to-agile transformations, designed to deliver Minimum Viable Products in a consistent cadence
  • Experience with a broad range of system types: custom & COTS/GOTS HW/SW, & specialty engineering of exotic material/limited supply items. Experience in cloud-hosted development, I&T capability
  • Experience with CM/DM, HW/SW test & evaluation of classified systems
  • Experience implementing cyber solutions in existing DoD systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or adjacent fields and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience is required.
  • Experience with RADAR and/or phased array antenna principles.
  • Experience with requirements development, allocation, validation and verification required. Experience with requirements databases such as DOORs is required.
  • Active secret security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors
  • Experience negotiating solutions among functional groups (Systems Engineering, Mission Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.)
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by related work experience

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $89,000.00 - $165,000.00 (salary ranges in other locations could differ). This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits including: health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
