Job Description:
L3Harris' Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment, Missile Solutions sector is seeking a skilled engineering leader with a strong background in project and product engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with solid rocket motors, liquid DACS, airbreathing / hyper-supersonic propulsion, and/or missile systems, and will bring innovative ideas to this team to ensure Aerojet Rocketdyne remains an industry leader in these areas, and continues to outpace our adversaries and competitors. They will be responsible for driving functional excellence in the Project and Product engineering discipline through industry leading tools, processes, and training. This role requires the ability to coordinate effectively with Chief Engineering, across Engineering Disciplines, Program Management, and other cross-functional peers, including Supply Chain and Operations. The role will report to the Vice President, Missile Solutions Engineering and cab be based our of our locations in Huntsville, AL, Culpeper, VA, Canoga Park, CA, West Palm Beach, FL, or Camden, AR.
Essential Functions:
- Provide oversight to the execution of Project and Product Engineering work scope across the Missile Solutions sector.
- Ensure work is performed with velocity and first-time quality.
- Proactively intervene, driving recovery plans and implementing corrective/preventative actions on engineering issues affecting production or critical path on development.
- Ensure that the supply of Project and Product Engineering resources stays aligned with enterprise demand, and that the resources are deployed to the programs meeting business needs in a timely manner.
- Set the vision, identify gaps, and lead the organization to excellence by modeling a commitment to continuous improvement using L3Harris Excellence Everywhere Everyday (e3) model.
- Collaborate with the engineering senior leadership team and program management office in addressing both strategic and tactical matters of concern.
- Support new business development through participation in capture teams and the proposal development and review process.
- Provide mentorship, coaching and other resources necessary to foster employee development.
- Plan the overhead budget requirements for the organization and manage the budget to meet all financial goals.
- Lead by example demonstrating commitment to L3Harris’ values of Integrity, Excellence, and Respect to foster and ethical culture.
- Up to 50% business travel to L3Harris and customer locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant engineering experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 13 years of relevant engineering experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of relevant engineering experience
- 8+ years direct people leadership experience.
- Active US Secret Security clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $180,500.00 - $335,000.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $157,000.00 - $291,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
